Comfort and Sizing
Let’s begin by addressing the elephant in the room and talk about shoe sizes. Shoes are my least favorite accessory when it comes to size and fit. You might think that size and fit are one and the same. But there is a noticeable difference.
The size of the shoe may match your typical size, but the way they fit around your foot could be much different. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if the shoe fits until you try it on.
Loom sneakers sizes are manufactured using European (EU) measurements. This means that the shoe size runs a bit smaller than what you would typically wear in other brands. Unfortunately, Loom doesn’t offer half sizes. If you typically wear a size 10 in men’s you will want to order a size 11 or maybe even a 12 if you have wider feet.
My Size Experience
In most shoes, I wear a men’s size 11, so I ordered a size 12 in the Loom sneakers. When they arrived and I tried them on, the shoe was still about a half size too small. Loom’s customer service was really great, and they sent me out a size 13 (which is the largest size they sell).
Again, when it comes to shoe sizing, I have a tough time finding that perfect fit. This is something to keep in mind when you’re ready to pick up a pair of Loom’s sneakers. They offer sizes between 6 and 13. But keep in mind that these sizes are more like a size 5 to size 12. I know that this size system sounds a bit confusing. It isn’t uncommon for higher-end brands to use EU measurements. At least they tell you upfront on what to expect.
If you have a high arch, flat or wide feet, or have a tough time getting the right fit in shoes, you might want to go up two sizes. Again, Loom’s customer service is great, so don’t worry if the shoe doesn’t fit, they’ll exchange them with no hassle.
Waterproof Sneakers
There’s nothing more exciting than finding a close parking spot at Costco. But when you get out of the car and plant your foot into that two-inch deep puddle you didn’t see, you might be wishing you grabbed the first spot you saw in the back of the lot.
Your shoes and socks are soggy and you’re trying to play it off like it’s no big deal. But every step you take is a sloshy wet mess. And all you can think about is how uncomfortable you are.
One of my favorite things to do with my oldest son was to take him on nature walks. We would often veer off the path and head toward a shallow creek bed. And then jump from rock to rock to explore the different areas.
